The New 2025 Toyota Crown Signia
When Toyota reintroduced the Crown nameplate in 2023, it slotted into the line-up where the Toyota Avalon used to be, but with a hybrid powertrain. Evolving separately from the Crown but holding onto the same powertrain, the 2025 Crown Signia hits the market also to take the spot of a retired model, the Venza. A sleek SUV-wagon hybrid, the Signia looks to make an impact on the market, diving into a segment with very little competition – so let’s look at what the Crown Signia brings to the table.
Performance Features
The hybrid powertrain under the hood of the 2025 Toyota Crown Signia pairs a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with a nickel-metal hydride battery for immediate torque and 240 net system horsepower. All-wheel drive is standard, and the power runs through an electronically controlled continuously variable transmission (CVT). This provides immediate acceleration and steady highway cruising, capable of getting to 60 MPH from a standing start in 7 seconds. At the same time, it achieves an estimated 39 MPG city and 37 MPG highway. Drive mode select includes Eco, Normal, and Sport modes.
Style and Technology
The front fascia and profile of the 2025 Toyota Crown Signia stand out from the rest of the Toyota SUV lineup. The front grille is flush with the rest of the fascia, a cheese-grater appearance that retains the body color. The headlights are slashes that lead to the front corners, while in profile, the vehicle sits lower than the RAV4 but is also longer, with a low-slung roofline.
The interior isn’t fully luxury but is certainly a step up from most entry-level vehicles. It’s spacious, with the second row getting 37.1 inches of legroom and 39.1 inches of headroom. Dual-zone automatic climate control is standard and comes with rear-seat vents. Toyota has provided plenty of cargo space as well, with 25.8 cubic feet of cargo space with the rear seats in place, or up to 68.8 cubic feet with the seats stowed.
Every Crown Signia features a 12.3-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration and SiriusXM with a three-month trial subscription and Bluetooth hands-free phone and streaming. This system features six speakers standard, with an available 11-speaker JBL premium sound system. Five USB ports include two for the rear seats and one in the console, while Qi-compatible vertical wireless charging is also standard. Toyota’s Connected Services are included with every Crown Signia - Wi-Fi Connect, Remote Connect, Service Connect, Drive Connect, and Safety Connect all come with trial subscriptions included on new vehicles.
Safety
To protect passengers, other folks on the road, and pedestrians, the 2025 Toyota Signia comes with the Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 suite standard. On top of the eight airbags equipped throughout the cabin, this suite includes adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, front automatic emergency braking, and automatic high-beam headlights. Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert is standard on every model, paired with a backup camera featuring dynamic gridlines - a Panoramic View Monitor with a 360-degree view is available. Two great peace-of-mind features, the Toyota Rear Seat Reminder, and the Safe Exit Assist system, are standard on every Crown model!
Trim Levels
The 2025 Toyota Crown Signia debuts with only two available trim levels. The base level XLE sits on 19-inch multi-spoke machine-finished two-tone alloy wheels, while cargo is loaded in through a heigh-adjustable hands-free power liftgate with jam protection. Heated power outside mirrors help clear snow and ice for good visibility, while puddle lights make night entry safer. Inside, leather-trimmed front seats are heated and ventilated, with the passenger getting 8-way power adjustability and the driver getting 8-way power plus lumbar support. Rear outboard seats are also heated, as is the leather-trimmed steering wheel with multimedia controls and leather-trimmed shift knob.Â
The Limited trim level is clad in 21-inch 7-twin-spoke dark gray metallic alloy wheels, while Quad-LED projector low- and high-beam headlights show the way. A panoramic fixed-glass roof with a power sunshade opens up the cabin, while the heated power outside mirrors come with puddle lights and reverse tilt-down. The 11-speaker JBL Premium Audio System including a subwoofer and amplifier is standard inside. Safety options available in the Advanced Tech Package include the Panoramic View Monitor, Lane Change Assist, Traffic Jam Assist, Front Cross-Traffic Alert, and Front and Rear Parking Assist with Automatic Braking.
Taking the best of the 2025 Toyota Crown and putting it in a stylish SUV-meets-sports wagon body, the 2025 Toyota Crown Signia offers an interesting and unique proposition, a bright entry into a brand-new segment for Toyota!
